Montana was born and raised outside of Detroit, Michigan where he grew up camping, fishing, and enjoying the beauty of the Great Lakes. He received his B.S. in Environmental Studies and Sustainability from Northern Michigan University. After graduation Montana worked seasonally as a park ranger for the National Park Service as well as smaller agencies at the state and non-profit levels. These positions allowed him to work and spend time in Alaska, Florida, Utah, Virginia, and Colorado.
Montana moved to Grand Junction in 2018 and has worked for Mesa County, coordinating the Noxious Weed Management Program.
In his free time, Montana can be found outdoors, traveling, or in the kitchen.
