Give Where You Live - A note about Colorado Gives Day

October 24th, 2018
A note from Rusty
RiversEdge West's Executive Director

Dear Friends of RiversEdge West,
Thank you for being a champion of healthy rivers and RiversEdge West (formerly Tamarisk Coalition). The support we have received from individuals like you has allowed us to make tremendous strides towards improving river health at a watershed-scale throughout the West, while also benefitting the people living in and traveling to these communities.
Thanks to donors and members like you, this year we:
  • Wrapped up the Restore Our Rivers Campaign, which raised and distributed a total of $1.56M to support capacity-building, planning, monitoring, and maintenance activities carried out by nine watershed partnerships that are restoring six rivers in the West.
  • Continued to provide technical assistance, direct support, novel science and mapping information, and coordination support to 15 restoration partnerships throughout the West to collectively restore over 51,000 acres of riparian lands.
  • Engaged over 1,200 youth and adults in the stewardship of our rivers through events that increased awareness about restoration, grew our membership base, and forged new relationships with funders.
  • Changed our name from Tamarisk Coalition to RiversEdge West and rebranded our organization to better communicate the role we play in river restoration.
All told, we have had an incredibly productive year…but the work continues.  As we gear up for Colorado Gives Day on December 4, 2018, I invite you to support this important work.
This year we have an exciting challenge for you!  From now until Colorado Gives Day, our goal is to raise $20,500 to match the $20,500 investment that we have received from some of our corporate and foundation partners. Our generous and philanthropic corporate sponsors include Freeport McMoRan, Chevron, Silicon Valley Bank, Alpine Bank Mesa County, San Juan County, and Summit County, Forever Our Rivers Foundation, and Hoskins, Farina and Kampf.  Help us leverage their incredible support by giving generously!
Please donate today, call us at (970) 256-7400, or write a check to RiversEdge West.
Thank you for taking action to restore our rivers.
