72nd Annual Meeting Technical Training, and Trade Show: Gateway to the Prairie

The Society for Range Management’s 72nd Annual Meeting, Technical Training and Trade Show will be held February 10 -14, 2019 at the Hilton, Minneapolis, MN.  The theme for the 2019 conference is Gateway to the Prairie.  Conference Co-Chairs are Jeff Duchene – USDA-NRCS Regional Grazing Specialist and Shawn DeKeyser – NDSU Natural Resources Management Program Leader.

State of the White River Basin Forum

Each spring the Colorado River District organizes informational “State of the River” meetings across parts of the Western Slope of Colorado to help educate the public and water users. Presentations are given on snowpack figures, water supply forecasts and anticipated stream flows and upcoming conditions.

Natural Areas Conference

This year’s theme is Building Resilience: The Future of Natural Areas. Environmental change is dramatically impacting the resilience of natural areas and their ability to rebound from disturbance while maintaining biologically important features, and continuing to provide fundamental support to human health.

Upper Midwest Invasive Species Conference

The Upper Midwest Invasive Species Conference (UMISC) is a biennial conference. The Conference host organizations and organizing committees are pleased to join with the North American Invasive Species Management Association (NAISMA) to organize the largest invasive species conference in North America at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester, MN - October 15-18, 2018.

Next Generation Water Summit

The Summit focuses on water conservation and water reuse in the arid Southwest.  It brings together builders, designers, architects and water professionals to share best practices and brainstorm new ones through charrettes. In 2018, their featured keynote speaker will be Jonathan Overpeck. Overpeck’s visionary work has been at the forefront of the heated climate change public debates and identifying the risks to managing water resources, providing valuable insights into past climate variability and change in the Southwest.

Colorado Water Congress Annual Convention

The Colorado Water Congress Annual Convention takes place annually, in January, for three days in Denver, Colorado. The 2018 convention will take place at the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center, January 24-26.

The Colorado Water Congress Annual Convention is the premier water industry event in the state, attracting 500+ attendees that convene for networking and collaboration on the important water issues of the day.

Managing Rivers, Reservoirs, and Lakes in the Face of Drought

Join this international gathering of instream flow specialists, practioners, water managers, and scientists to learn practical tools and strategies for sustaining and protecting ecological values of water. The workshop opens with a daylong training session on Tuesday where you can select 2 out of 4 available training sessions on topics related to FERC hydropower licensing, water law concepts for dealing with drought, reducing uncertainty in riverine ecosystems during environmental change, or handling information in water management issues.
