Riparian Restoration and Tamarisk Beetle Workshop I Benson, AZ

Join us in Arizona for this two-day workshop that brings in professionals from across the country to discuss riparian restoration in the southwest, the effects of wildfire in desert riparian systems, the distribution and spread of the tamarisk beetle, impacts of the beetle on riparian systems, effects of the beetle on endangered species, and desert-specific riparian plantings.

2019 Riparian Restoration Conference

RiversEdge West's 17th Annual Conference, in partnership with the Desert Botanical Garden, was held February 5-7, 2019 at the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix, AZ. The conference sold out, with over 210 people in attendance across 15 states and two countries.

Join the Cross-Watershed Network in New Mexico for their 5th Annual workshop, where watershed practitioners come together from across the Southwest to share lessons and collaboratively problem solve on a variety of watershed management topics!   

Happy Hour at Alpine Bank: Eat, Drink, Give!

Join Tamarisk Coalition in the lobby of Alpine Bank from 5:30-7:30 on December 5th for appetizers and drinks (e.g. non-alcoholic beverages, wine from Talon Wine Brands and beer from Many Rivers Brewing) in celebration of #COGivesDay, an annual statewide movement that celebrates and increases philanthropy in Colorado through online giving.

State of the Watershed

The first annual State of the Watershed public forum will be held on September 22 at Eastern Arizona College in Thatcher, AZ. Local and state experts will share the most current information about natural and water resources in the Upper Gila Watershed. Fire, flood, and the arrival of tamarisk leaf beetle are highlighted topics at this event.  Other topics include: snowpack, climate forecasts, mining, local water supplies, and river channelization.  All are welcome, and questions from the audience are encouraged.  

Riparian Restoration Conference

Over 200 people joined the Tamarisk Coalition and the Water Center at Colorado Mesa University for a sold-out Riparian Restoration Conference in Grand Junction, Colorado, February 6-8, 2018.  

Kansas Riparian & Range Restoration Workshop

This meeting, sponsored by Comanche Pool, will have presentations and discussion on invasive plants, revegetation, tamarisk control after fire, funding, biocontrol, and innovative restoration tools. Includes provided materials and landowner registration/lunch courtesy of KGLC and DOW!

Oklahoma Riparian & Range Restoration Workshop

Presentations on invasive plant removal and revegetation techniques, restoration after fire, funding, tamarisk beetle impacts, and innovative restoration tools.
Cost: $15 includes a site visit to Optima NWR for equipment demo, a plethora of provided materials, snacks, beverages, and day 1 lunch (provided by NWTF)!

Outreach Lunch

Join us for our next outreach lunch on September 11th to learn more about Tamarisk Coalition's work and ways to be involved!  

The goal of this free informational lunch is to help raise awareness in the community of what we do here locally and regionally.  

The event is held from noon - 1 in the Community Room of the Mesa County Library, Central branch.  Lunch, pizza and salads from Pablo's, will be provided.
