Riparian Restoration Planning and Implementation Workshop

Tamarisk Coalition, along with partner-experts, will present information learned from riparian restoration efforts across the west, covering such topics as invasive plant removal, revegetation, funding, partnership building, monitoring, the tamarisk beetle, and innovative restoration tools. More details will be available soon.
 
Cost: $25 includes a plethora of provided materials, snacks, beverages, and lunch!
 

Southwest Colorado Riparian Restoration Workshop

Brought to you by the Tamarisk Coalition, this workshop will equip river restoration enthusiasts with tips and tricks for better managing riparian areas in the Four Corners area.
 
The Basics: Check-in begins and 8:30 am at Ft. Lewis College (Colorado Room in the Student Union Building) and we'll finish up by 5:00pm at Waterfall Ranch. You are responsible for getting yourself to the field site (~20 minutes).

TC at GJ Farmers' Market

Say hello and meet the Tamarisk Coalition staff at Grand Junction's Downtown Farmers' Market on August 17th and August 24th from 5:30-8:30pm.  Learn more about the riverside restoration happening in the Grand Valley and across the Southwest, pick up pamphlets related to invasive plant management and riparian restoration, and find out about our upcoming events.

Clean-up of Clifton Nature Park

Join us in maintaining and creating healthy landscapes to live and play by participating in the clean-up of Clifton Nature Park!
 
The event will take place from 8 a.m to 12 p.m. Sunday, August 6, 2017, including the opportunity for a descriptive nature walk after pulling weeds and picking up trash.
 
Make sure you pack sunglasses, sunscreen, snacks, and water. We recommend you wear a long sleeve shirt, long pants, and sturdy shoes. We will have some gloves available, but if you have a favorite pair— please bring them along!
 

Northwest Colorado Outdoor Stewardship Summit

Calling all Colorado-based outdoor stewardship organizations and land managers!  On July 19th from 1pm-4pm, join Tamarisk Coalition and the Colorado Outdoor Stewardship Coalition, for a local summit on the Colorado Outdoor Stewardship Coalition’s new Statewide Stewardship Initiative.
 

State of the River

Mesa State of the River event May 15, 3:30 - 8:00 at the Avalon Theater: This meeting will combine elements from the usual topics of the annual Mesa State of the River meetings (runoff forecast and current water issues) with typical Water Course content (Colorado hydrology and water law) and an added emphasis on the importance of the river for business and the economy.

Earth Day Volunteer Event

Join us on Saturday, April 22nd at the Uravan Ball Park to help clean up the park, remove invasive brush, build shade shelters, and help build and install birdhouses and signage! Free afternoon barbecue to follow. There will also be presentations by sponsors and a local birder (Coan Dexter). Share a memorable experience with friends!

Clifton Nature Park Volunteer Day

Take part in National Volunteer Week by joining Alpine Bank, Mesa County, Clifton Sanitation, the Desert Rivers Collaborative, and the Tamarisk Coalition in a clean-up of Clifton Nature Park! Shifts are available from 9-11 and 11-1 on Friday, April 28th. 
 
Please bring sunglasses, sunscreen, long sleeve shirts, long pants, sturdy shoes and a water bottle and snacks. We will have some gloves, but if you have a favorite pair, please bring them along.  
 

Dolores River Riparian Restoration and Tamarisk Removal

Take a volunteer vacation with Audubon Rockies, Wildlands Restoration Volunteers, Tamarisk Coalition, and the Dolores River Restoration Partnership!

Join us on National Public Lands Day for this camp-out trip working to restore a native ecosystem inside the absolutely stunning Dolores River Canyon Wilderness Study Area.

Riparian Restoration and Tamarisk Beetle Workshop

On April 20th, in Avondale, Arizona, Tamarisk Coalition is working under a Walton Family Foundation grant to present a workshop on riparian restoration, focusing on areas impacted by the tamarisk beetle. 

Hosted by Estrella Mountain Community College, with sponsorship from the City of Buckeye, Stillwater Sciences, and SWCA Consultants (and more coming), this one-day workshop is geared towards land managers and folks on-the-ground.
