Dolores River Restoration and Tamarisk Removal

Spend a few days camped out under the cottonwoods along the spectacular Dolores River with us, while you're there, maybe kill some Tamarisk. That's what we'll be doing. Year 5 working down in this part of the state to eradicate the invasive water hogging, earth salting Tamarisk tree. Volunteers will cut small trees or regrowth of previously cut larger trees and may also cage some Cottonwoods to protect them from marauding beavers. 

Clifton Nature Park Clean-Up During National Volunteer Week!

Join us during National Volunteer Week in maintaining and creating healthy landscapes to live and play by participating in the clean-up of Clifton Nature Park!
 
The event will take place from 9 a.m to 1 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2018 including the opportunity for a descriptive nature walk after pulling weeds and picking up trash. 

Mayberry Earth Day Celebration

Join Rim to Rim Restoration for  Earth Day on Saturday, April 21st at Mayberry Plant Propagation Center.  Enjoy light refreshments, a self-guided tour, check out our new projects or just fly a kite (if there is enough wind). Bring kite if you have one! See the event details below and on the poster attached.

Directions: from Moab follow UT-128 for 15.25 miles and turn left. If you reach the Castle Valley turn-off you have gone too far.
 

Grand Valley Audubon Nature Preserve Earth Day Event

Be part of the movement to restore Grand Valley Audubon Nature Preserve!

Volunteers, working with Grand Valley Audubon Society and RiversEdge West staff, will install a pollinator garden; plant native trees, shrubs, and flowers; and help with invasive tree removal. All welcome and no experience is necessary. Please wear sturdy work shoes and clothes you don't mind getting dirty! Some gloves will be on hand, but please bring your own if you have them. If you have a shovel, please put your name on it and bring it.

Lunch will be provided.

An Evening with River Photographer Tim Palmer

An Evening with River Photographer Tim Palmer, April 16, 2018, 6-8pm, CMU University Center, Grand Junction, CO. This event will include a reception followed by a slideshow and discussion with Tim Palmer. 

River Restoration Volunteer Event

Help with revegetation efforts along the Dolores River by helping a fencing project at the boat-ramp in beautiful Bedrock, CO. The group will be building buck and rail fencing to help protect areas where revegeation is in process.

Date: Saturday October 28th
Time: meet at 10 am at the Bedrock Store

Please bring appropriate clothing, work gloves, and water. Fencing tools and materials will be provided. Lunch, snacks, and cold refreshments will also be provided.

Verde River Day

Dead Horse Ranch State Park, located in Cottonwood, Arizona, will celebrate its 29th Annual Verde River Day on Saturday, September 30, 2017. Park entrance fees will be waived for all visitors attending the event. All of the activities are at no cost, thanks to the many exhibitors and sponsors.

Verde River Day promotes preservation and care of the environment by showcasing informative exhibits on the Verde's unique riparian habitat.

Willow Planting Event

9 am - 5 pm
 
Volunteer with the Middle Colorado Watershed Council and plant willows along Butler Creek!  Butler Creek is located 16 miles north of Rifle, Colorado on lands managed by the White River National Forest.

The event will take place from 8 a.m to 12 p.m. Friday, September 29, 2017, including the opportunity for a descriptive nature walk after pulling weeds and picking up trash. 
Make sure you pack sunglasses, sunscreen, snacks, and water. We recommend you wear a long sleeve shirt, long pants, and sturdy shoes. We will have some gloves available, but if you have a favorite pair— please bring them along!
