Volunteer Event in Bedrock, CO

 
Join the Dolores River Restoration Partnership, Dolores River Boating Advocates, RiversEdge West, and Bureau of Land Management in a volunteer stewardship project on October 8, 9, and 10th in Bedrock, CO! 
 
We need help extending a wooden baffle structure that was installed in 2019 to re-direct ephemeral (intermittent) flows from East Paradox Creek, back to its historic path towards the Dolores River.
 

Earth Day Volunteer Event

8 am - 10 am
 
Join RiversEdge West at the River Park at Las Colonias on April 22nd from 8 am - 10 am for a volunteer event to pull weeds, remove tamarisk, and pick up trash!
 
Loppers, hand saws, and work gloves will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own tools as well (no chainsaws). All ages are welcome.
 
This event is limited to the first 20 participants. Registration is required.

Join RiversEdge West at the River Park at Las Colonias on April 22nd from 8 am - 10 am for a socially distanced volunteer event to pull weeds, remove tamarisk, and pick up trash!
 
Loppers, hand saws, and work gloves will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own tools as well (no chainsaws). All ages are welcome.
 
This event is limited to the first 15 participants. Registration is required.

Volunteer Event at the Audubon Preserve

 
Join RiversEdge West and the Grand Valley Audubon Society for a volunteer event on October 22nd from 8 am - 10 am! Volunteers will be hand-pulling invasive tamarisk seedlings before they blanket the Audubon's wetland and decrease plant diversity in the area. After the tamarisk is removed, we'll collect native seeds and redistribute them over the newly cleared area to encourage the growth of native vegetation that is critical to healthy bird and wildlife habitat.

Join RiversEdge West at the River Park at Las Colonias on September 24th from 8 am - 10 am for a small, physically-distanced volunteer event removing tamarisk and other weeds! This event is limited to the first 10 participants.
 

Volunteer in McInnis Canyons NCA

Join Colorado Canyons Association on September 26th to clean up the highway outside of Rabbit Valley! Whether an animal ingests plastic or trash blows further into the NCA, you can do your part in keeping McInnis Canyons pristine. Expect ~2 miles of walking along the highway as we bag trash.

Volunteer in Gunnison Gorge NCA!

Join Colorado Canyons Association and the Bureau of Land Management on September 26th to help restore critical habitat for the threatened Gunnison sage-grouse and give back to your public land! Volunteers will be using loppers and hand saws to cut down juniper and pinion saplings that would otherwise become perches for predators, scaring away the sage-grouse.

Volunteer Event: Building Bird Boxes

 
Help RiversEdge West and the Bureau of Reclamation build bird boxes at the Grand Junction Wildlife Area from 8-11 am on September 17th. View map here.
 
The bird boxes will provide a safe place for birds to build their nests that is protected from the elements and predators.
