16th Annual Colorado River Cleanup

Join the Grand Valley Paddling Club for their 16th Annual Colorado River Cleanup on August 1, 2020!

The Colorado River Cleanup is an on-the-water cleanup where trash collected on the banks is floated downriver to the takeout and then disposed of.

This is not only a time when we pull tires and couches from the river but, a time to raise awareness and stewardship for our rivers.

The cleanup will be done in four sections:

Love Your Gorge

Join organizers from the Ouray Ice Park and Uncompahgre Watershed Partnership to help restore the natural resources in the Uncompahgre River Gorge. Historic use by the early settlers left mining, railroad, and other industrial debris, while more recent gorge visitors left construction debris scattered around – all of which was mostly cleaned up during the 2018 Love Your Gorge event. This year, we are continuing to remove debris, as well as addressing erosion issues around the top of the gorge.
