Dolores River Riparian Restoration and Tamarisk Removal

September 29th, 2017 to October 1st, 2017
Gateway, CO

Take a volunteer vacation with Audubon Rockies, Wildlands Restoration Volunteers, Tamarisk Coalition, and the Dolores River Restoration Partnership!

Join us on National Public Lands Day for this camp-out trip working to restore a native ecosystem inside the absolutely stunning Dolores River Canyon Wilderness Study Area.

Volunteers will remove invasive tamarisk trees and seed and plant native vegetation in "resource islands" throughout the area. This is a rare opportunity to camp and work in this truly scenic and historic area - once the stomping grounds of the infamous rimrockers and notable characters such as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid!

RiversEdge West's

mission is to advance the restoration of riparian lands through collaboration, education, and technical assistance.
