Dolores River Tamarisk Removal & Restoration Project

Tamarisk Coalition and Wildlands Restoration Volunteers
October 7th, 2016 to October 9th, 2016
Dolores River Canyon Wilderness Study Area
Join us for a second year working with the Tamarisk Coalition and the Dolores River Restoration Partnership to restore habitat along the Dolores River in Bedrock, CO. Volunteers will hand remove non-native, invasive Tamarisk trees and seed native grasses throughout the riparian (river-side) corridor, including in the Dolores River Canyon Wilderness Study Area. This is a rare opportunity to camp out with your WRV community and work in this truly scenic and historic.
You can expect a fun-filled Friday-Sunday event of Tamarisk removal and educational opportunities in the beautiful Dolores River canyon. Volunteers will camp nearby at the boatramp in Bedrock, CO and hike into the project area, located a mile upriver.
Meals will be provided by talented volunteer cooks!
