Restoration Event

RiversEdge West and The Dolores River Restoration Partnership
November 9th, 2018
Gateway, CO
Restoration Event in Gateway on Friday, November 9, 9am - 3:30pm.

Join us to plant native plants in the Dolores River riparian corridor- immediately upstream of the bridge over the Dolores River in Gateway.

This is part of a multi-year effort by Dolores River Restoration Partnership to enrich the vegetation community of the site since tamarisk was removed several years ago and a cottonwood gallery has been restored. Any and all volunteers are invited!

Plants are being grown specifically for the site, and include New Mexico privet, silver buffaloberry, shadscale, four-wing saltbrush, rabbitbrush, Gambel oak, alkali sacaton, Gardner's saltbrush, fringed sage, winterfat, three-leaf sumac, tall western sage, and sand sage.

Project partners are National Wild Turkey Federation, Colorado Native Plant Society, BLM Grand Junction Field Office, Gateway School, and Gateway Canyons Resort.

Meet at the dirt parking lot immediately upstream of the bridge over the Dolores River in Gateway!

RiversEdge West's

mission is to advance the restoration of riparian lands through collaboration, education, and technical assistance.
