The Recreational Trails Program (RTP) is a Federal-aid assistance program to help states provide and maintain recreational trails for both motorized and non-motorized recreational trail use. The program provides funding for all kinds of recreational trail uses, such as pedestrian uses (hiking, running, wheelchair use), bicycling, in-line skating, equestrian use, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, off-road motorcycling, all-terrain vehicle riding, four-wheel driving, or using other off-road motorized vehicles. Each state develops its own procedures to solicit projects from project sponsors, and to select projects for funding, in response to recreational trail needs within the State. Nevada State Parks administers the RTP in Nevada. The available amount to be received for the next cycle is announced in winter/spring.
mission is to advance the restoration of riparian lands through collaboration, education, and technical assistance.
