Associate Director

Full-time, 40 hrs/week

RiversEdge West is looking for an individual with excellent leadership skills, solid nonprofit and personnel management skills, fundraising experience, and a demonstrated ability to successfully manage vibrant and collaborative organizational programs. The Associate Director (AD) will work in a team setting of experienced and passionate employees, board members, volunteers, and practitioner partners.

The AD is a critical component of the organization who helps translate the organizational mission and vision into action and successful outcomes. Under the direction of the Executive Director, the AD is responsible for oversight and supervision of programs and associated staff for REW. Key responsibilities will be planning, management, and fiscal accountability of those programs that support the organizations 2022 – 2024 Strategic Plan

Salary & Benefits: $70,000 - $83,000 commensurate with experience and education. The AmeriCorps Riparian Restoration Strike Team will serve with Western Colorado Conservation Corps (WCCC) to implement initial and follow-up treatments of invasive plants using chainsaws, hand tools, and herbicide. Revegetating restorations sites with native plants through planting and seeding may also be required. The Strike Team will also map daily progress using tablets. 

The Riparian Restoration Strike Team was developed by RiversEdge West (REW) and WCCC to conduct invasive vegetation treatments and perform site maintenance (follow-up treatments, revegetating with native plants) on riparian restoration sites located in the western Colorado along the Colorado, Dolores, Gunnison, and White rivers. These restoration sites are managed in collaboration between REW and partners in the Desert Rivers Collaborative (DRC), Dolores River Restoration Partnership (DRRP), and White River Partnership (WRP) to cooperatively restore and maintain healthy river corridors.
