Rusty, who is based in Grand Junction, Colorado, joined the RiversEdge West team in January of 2011. Rusty began his career here in Colorado as a ranger for Colorado State Parks, before transitioning to natural resource management and wildland firefighting with the Bureau of Land Management and U.S. Forest Service. From 2004 to early 2011, he was the director for a youth and young adult employment program called Western Colorado Conservation Corps. He currently oversees RiversEdge West’s programs and works closely with the staff to support them and the partnerships they are involved with. He holds a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Colorado at Denver and a Bachelor of Science in Park Resource Management from Kansas State University.
He is passionate about spending time in the outdoors any chance he gets with his wife Jami and three children.
