Sara (she/her), a western Colorado local, received a Bachelor’s in Environmental Science and Technology with an emphasis in Ecosystem Restoration in 2020 from Colorado Mesa University.

Prior to joining the RiversEdge West team, Sara worked multiple roles in K-12 education, from science education to substitute teaching, before joining the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). She started her career at the BLM on an Assessment, Inventory, and Monitoring/Habitat Assessment Framework Crew that assessed the quality of habitat for Gunnison sage grouse in Mesa County through the collection of vegetation and soil data. After two seasons on the crew, Sara became a Rangeland Technician with the BLM to conduct monitoring relating to cattle grazing on public lands, specifically targeted towards impacts that cattle grazing may have on native vegetation.

At RiversEdge West, Sara’s position is held in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management. This position includes assisting with the planning and execution of riparian restoration projects within the Desert Rivers Collaborative, including areas within the McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area and the Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area.

Outside of work, she enjoys outdoor activities and can be found hiking or camping. When at home, she enjoys crocheting, baking, and hanging out with her two cats.
